Bryan Country Store opened in April 2009. We are Northwest Ohio's newest green business. We're located at the old Bryan Grain Elevator, but there is nothing old about us. We are offering cutting edge services that will help save our environment, along with saving you money on landfill fees. Bryan Country Store is the operation center for Oberlin Farms Demolition & Recycling and Heartland Energy. We invite you to stop in or ask us a question via email or phone.
Our History...
Scott Oberlin bought his first farm at age 16, graduated Bryan H.S. and pursued his chosen profession as a farmer. In the late 90's he purchased a used skid loader to use around the farm and also to do small excavation jobs like driveways and in 2003 his company branched out into bigger challenges like tearing down barns and salvaging materials. Soon Scott began to accumulate the wood and concrete, so he began researching equipment that would grind and crush materials and thus the beginnings of...Oberlin Farms Demolition & Recycling.
Another venture in our family of operations is Heartland Energy. Scott & April Sloan of rural Stryker began trying in 2004 to cut down on natural gas usage on their grain & hog farm. They began by investigating wood furnaces and boilers to heat their house, shop, & pig nursery. This led to a dealership & partnership with a friend and neighbor in handling both indoor & outdoor stoves. In the summer of 2008, they came into the elevator warehouse facility by offering both the stoves and wood pellet fuel. The businesses flowed together into the present facility...the Bryan Country Store .
Our Mission...
We are all working together to take a few of the many items around us, and transform them from a "waste" product into a usable and desirable commodity. Our challenge to you is to take a second look at that object you're about to throw away and ask yourself if it can still be used, reused, or recycled .
